Meet Rabeka Akerele: Our Founder’s Story’

If someone asked me whether I have seen angels in real life, my answer would be a big yes. Life was never a bed of roses while I grew up. I was aware about the hardships my mother faced as a single parent. It was my mother, my first angel, who was the silent pillar of strength for us. I have always gratefully wondered about the sacrifices my 2 brothers and 2 sisters made for me. They were my next set of angels

A Journey Shaped by Kindness

Looking back into my life, I understand the verse, “God will send his angels in charge of you to protect you wherever you go,” in its true sense. There were many kind hearts who empowered and nurtured me to the person I am today. From the compassionate landlord who let us live without any rent, the “spinach patti” (grandmother in Tamil) who took care of us while my mother was at work, to the countless others throughout our childhood days. There were many kind souls who saw my hard work when I secured admission in top-tier colleges in the state and aided my education along with my scholarships. It continued in my professional life, in the form of encouragement I got from colleagues and especially the CEO of my former company.

From Challenges to Triumphs

While I am ever thankful for all the blessings I received in the form of family, friends, and career, there was this small part of me asking God, how I can be of better use? The answer I received was at the same time a revelation and not exactly a surprise – to give back what I received, to be an angel for a random someone. The seed of Serve N Shine was sowed in me by this particular reason. I know while I strive to give back, I will encounter more angels, because that is His promise and that will be my strength to move on.

From managing teams across multiple locations to planning and executing extraordinary events within budget, I’ve dedicated my career to making a positive impact.
